Mani Monday | A Tangerine Affair
Mondays mean one thing- Manicure. Time to strip away the cracked and chipped varnish of the previous week and grace your nails with a new polished presence. In my case this week, Rimmel London's I heart Lasting Finish varnish in 705 Tangy Tangerine.
I admittedly bought this shade on a whim yesterday, when spotting that Rimmel's 'I heart' range was on offer for £1.99 I couldn't not buy one. I find it so impossible to walk into Boots and walk out without buying something #girlproblems.

When I applied the first coat, my initial thought was " what the hell kinda shade have I bought?!". The varnish was pretty much transparent, leaving a greasy unappealing tint to my nails, it made them look stained and awfully brittle. But I ploughed on, applying and re-applying coat after coat, eventually watching the ugly tint turn into an opaque true to bottle tangerine shade. ( About six coats to be precise and no- that isn't an exaggeration!)
This shade is definitely leaning towards the neon side of the nail colour scale, it's bright and oh-so in your face, but I really love it. The colour compliments my skin tone so well, it's so true when they say that an orange shade of nail will make you appear more tanned. I can't wait to team it with some of the brights in my wardrobe- we only have a little bit of summer left, so lets make the most of it.

I hope you have all had a lovely weekend, did you do anything nice?
Also those of you who are waiting upon results, how are you feeling? I'm freaking out- 3 days to go!!

That's such a gorgeous nail colour! I always have difficulty trying to find a bright colour that looks good, though six coats is extreme haha.

Yes I've fallen in love with it now! I can't believe it took six coats either, to be fair though they did dry really quickly!

When I saw the picture I thought that the color was very neon for the bottle but then I read how many coats you've used, haha! I hate when the color isn't near the one you think you bought in the bottle =( especially when they're sheer!
ReplyDeleteAh they do look a little different don't they! It did turn out to be lovely in the end though! :)
