Nottingham Winter Wonderland

A friend from my Marketing course and I  decided to wander into town to see what we could spy at the recently opened Christmas Market.

If you're local to Nottingham, or planning on doing your Christmas shopping here, it's really worth popping along to.
Winter Wonderland has completely covered Market Square, a short walk up from Victoria Shopping Centre.
It's impossible to miss, what with the lights, music and crowds.

We first decided to look around some of the many stalls, selling anything from fur hats to Christmas tree decorations.
I presumed that they would be filled with typical 'tat' but I actually spotted some really nice pieces, especially in the jewellery stall pictured bellow.
I also fell in love with a stall selling quirky quotes; the wine and happiness one would be perfect for my mum!

Next on our agenda was what we actually begrudgingly trudged around in the freezing cold for; the food.
I'd heard a lot about the food at Christmas markets but I'd never actually been able to try anything as I'd never had the chance to go to one...

Of course, I had to have the bright idea of trying the Jagermiester fudge.
It was awful, I instantly regretted it!
It was quickly followed by the Oreo and Peanut Butter crunch flavours I had also chosen (such a sweet tooth!).

I also tried (believe it or not) an Ostrich Burger!
I'm usually such a wimp  with weird food but I'm trying to say 'yes' to things I wouldn't usually do (strange meat eating being one of them- I'm strictly a beef or chicken kinda' girl).
The burger was quickly followed by a chorus of 'Guess what I just ate' texts to my family back home.

Mulled Wine, Mulled Cider, Mulled anything. My first trip to a Christmas market wouldn't have been complete without trying the infamous Christmas speciality.
I'm not a big Cider drinker at all, but I thought I would give it a go, I  loved it!
The little cabin next to the bar was so cute, and the fire kept us a little bit warmer whilst the hot mug thawed our freezing fingers!

We took a final wander round to the ice-rink.
We were tempted to give it a go but our fingers were frozen and I have the grace of Bambi!
If you know me well, then I'm sure you would of heard about last years incident at London's Winter Wonderland- so embarrassing.

I hope you have all had a lovely weekend.
