Review: Clinique's stay-matte oil-free makeup
If I could have a ridiculous amount of any one type of makeup (not that I don't already #bloggerproblems), it would be foundation.
The thing is, it's so bloody expensive and runs out so quickly that I can only afford to have one or two bottles at a time.
For the past month or so, I have been using Clinique's stay-matte oil-free makeup.
I intended to buy it for myself with some left over birthday money, as a 'special occasion' foundation for nights out and things like that.
Although, I've come to realise that it's more of an everyday foundation due to the lighter coverage than expected.
I wanted to use stay-matte for a while before I reviewed it, just so that I had a full idea of what the product was like.
The foundation stays true to it's oil-controlling claims, my T-Zone has stayed matte yet moisturised throughout the day.
Clinique's stay-matte blends easily into the skin, needing a small amount to leave a natural, radiant (but not too dewy) finish.
This foundation is perfect for those of you with oiler skin, although I wouldn't recommend it to drier skin-types.
As mentioned previously, I had intended to use stay-matte as a fuller coverage foundation for nights out.
To be honest, I feel like it's more suited towards lighter day to day use.
The foundation doesn't cover redness around my chin and nose as well as I'd like, so I've been using Maybelline's Dream-Matte Mousse on my redder areas to ensure that's its better covered - even just in the day.
Despite it not being as full coverage as I'd have hoped, it has great longevity, maintaining the same fresh texture as first applied throughout the day.
Overall, this product would be perfect if you're looking for an everyday higher-end foundation to help control oily skin.
I'd recommend it more for those of you who don't really have problem areas such as redness and spots and just need something light for a natural finish.
Clinique's stay-matte oil-free makeup is available at Debenhams or Boots for around twenty two pounds.

DeleteI have looked at Clinique foundations before, but they don't do any shades pale enough for me, haha. Sounds like a lovely daytime foundation though :) xxx
