Happy New Years! OOTN & Makeup.

So here goes the very first post of 2014.
I  feel like starting a new year is similar to the excitement of beginning a new exercise book at school; I can't wait to fill my blog up with new posts and ideas.
Just like at school, I'm so determined to keep everything up to date and looking pretty.
(hopefully it will last longer than the first page of my school books!)

Outfit.

Jacket: H&M
Top: Primark
Bottoms: H&M
Bag: H&M
Necklace: Primark
Shoes: Internacionale
Watch: Michael Kors

This new years eve my boyfriend and I decided to go to a friends family party.
(Hence my very large bag replacing a clutch, filled with pyjamas and clothes for the next day!)
I've never really been big on dressing up, you'll rarely find me in a dress and stiletto style shoes!
So this is my standard type of outfit for an occasion that calls for something a bit more glam/dressy.

I had bought the jacket, bottoms and top that day, all absolute bargains and I was so excited to wear them.
The jacket immediately caught my eye in H&M, the colour red is super flattering on brunettes and makes a nice change to the usual black or grey blazers I often wear.
The jacket is light-weight and comfortable, although the sizes were a little smaller than I anticipated (I had to go up a size).
Details such as its silky lining and stylish minimalistic collar-line makes it look as though it belongs on a shelf in Top Shop with a price tag of £50, rather than the measly £15 I paid in H&M.

I deliberately chose black pieces for the rest of the outfit, I didn't want it to be too loud but if you're brave the jacket could look great colour blocked.
I paired the blazer with a top I spotted in Primark for £3 in their sale.
I really wish I took a photo of the detailing on it now.
It had gorgeous embroidered silver, gold and black straps, again making it look a lot more expensive than its £3 price-tag!

I then squeezed myself into a pair of leather-esk leggings.
When I say squeezed, I really mean squeezed.
It took a whole load of wriggling and jumping around like and idiot just to get them over my bum! Does anyone else have this problem?!
I do love them though, they make a nice change from my usual choice of black skinny jeans.

Finally I accessorised with a large black bag with gold detailing on, it reminds me very much of the infamous Prada bag that became so popular last year (wow it feels weird saying that!).
Next I put my watch on (I rarely have it off) and wore a basic gold necklace.
Lastly I put on my trusty black wedges; outfit complete!

Makeup.

I finally got to play with my Naked3 palette eeeee!
Gosh, I am so in love.
It's definitely the nicest of the three.

I generously applied the shade Nooner to my lid as a base.
Then took the shade Factory and applied it liberally to my crease.
blend blend blend.
After, I applied the shade Liar to my lid, to add a little dimension & shimmer.
I then blended Darkside into the outer corners of my eyes.
Next I added a little of Dust to my inner corners (so pretty!).
Next, I created a winged liner to make my eyes appear wider and more 'cat-eyed'.
Finally, lashes!

I used my usual products for a base, you can see a little review of them here.
I concealed with Soap and Glory's Kick Ass concealer, which I have reviewed here.
I bronzed my face all over using Benfits Hoola.
I contoured using a Collection 2000 mosaic bronzer, Sleeks Rose Gold blush and MUA's powder highlight.
I filled in my brows with Bella Pierre's brow powder.
On my lips is MACS Crème Cup, which I have also reviewed- here!

I kept my hair straight for a change and styled a centre parting.
I spent so much time on my makeup that I had about five minutes to sort something out with my hair!

So, that was my new years makeup and outfit.
I hope you liked this post!
Also, I'm sorry about the quality of my photos, they were only taken on my phone!

I hope you all had a fabulous new years, and celebrated it with all of your loved ones.
Heres to another year of friendship, progress and laughter!
