SUMMER MAKEUP PALETTES
What with travelling so often, I can't afford to overfill my rucksack, suitcase or weekend bag with my much loved (and ever growing) assortment of blushers, bronzers, concealers and eye-shadows. I need a solution to makeup that caters to my needs of beauty efficiency, yet still provides an array of makeup combinations to take me from day to night.
This summer, I have been continuously gravitating towards two palettes that I bought in the weeks before I was due to travel; LaRoc Premium Concealer Palette and Illamasqua's Multi Face Palette in Semblance.
It's no exaggeration to say that I have used them religiously - dismissing the rest of my makeup collection in the process.
The LaRoc Concealer Palette, was something I initially spotted in my sisters makeup bag. I had been having really bad skin that week, and she recommended that I use a little of the greeny/blue shade upon red areas before applying my concealer. It worked a dream, totally cancelling out the hues of redness that I was so conscious of.
The next day I immediately purchased the 15 Shade palette for a measly £2.98 on Ebay - I've linked the seller here if you want to take a look.
Since purchasing my own palette, I have been using a selection of shades on a daily basis. As I don't wear foundation, I have been applying a little of an olivey shade (because I've actually tanned - eeee) to any areas of my skin that need a little help, and then apply a yellow shade underneath my eyes - I have also taken to using a darker shade as a bronzer lately.
The formula is really hard wearing and lasts all day without the need to top up (even, in 30 degree heat I've found!).
After applying shades from the LaRoc palette, I then turn to my much loved Illamasqua Semblance shades. I apply the pink blusher (which has a slight peach hue) and occasionally (if I can be arsed), use the gorgeous golden cream highlighter (named Mirage) on the tops of my cheek and brow bones. For eyes, I dust a little of the pink powder shade across my lids and line my lash line with the brown. In the evenings, I'll use the cream brown pigment to lightly contour and the other eye-shadow shades to accentuate my eye look.
Illamasqua Semblance is crammed with the brand's best sellers, and with it currently being on sale at Debenhams for £22.50 - it makes an affordable, yet high end alternative to going on a summer makeup spending rampage.
Besides the two palettes, I carry a Bellapierre mascara, Rituals pencil eyeliner and of course, my makeup brushes.
What is in your summer makeup collection?

These palettes look great, I've always wanted to try a concealer palette but I'm a little concerned about the amount of colours that may not actually match my skin tone.. However that LaRoc one looks really good! Great colour selection too. xx
